Photos - Jake's new toy

This was a Christmas gift from my Mum and Stepfather:

As you can see, Jake really likes it.  He got a little ride around the house, courtesy of Daddy:

And, as you'll see, our living room is filled with lots of other Christmas gifts from my Mum and Stepfather.  Toys everywhere!!!

Eager Beaver

Jake was so keen to get into the bath yesterday, that he jumped in with his socks on while my back was momentarily turned.  I was stripping him off but left his socks on because the floor was cold.  With the water running and Jake pacing eagerly back and forth in front of the tub, I turned to lay his towel out on the bathroom counter.  I heard a small splash, turned and there he was, bathing in his navy blue socks.

And me being me, I had to get pictures before I pulled them off him.

He keeps getting cuter and cuter everyday.

Accurate?

His shirt says "100% Mischief".  Hmmm, perhaps...  but there's definitely some "angel" in there too.  I'd say he's about 75% mischief and 25% angel...

...or is it the other way around?

Movie Review

Stephen and I rented the DVD Dark Water last night and I have to say:

Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

What a boring movie!  The plot was boring, the characters were boring and the scary music was even more boring.  I'd seen the ads on TV for the movie while it was in theatres and it looked great.  Really scary, which I love.  But the truth was that we were almost to the end of the movie and I still didn't know what kind of "scariness" we were dealing with.

You know what I mean?  Usually, you get some kind of idea whether you're watching a movie with an actual scary-killer bad guy in it, or perhaps demon ghosts, or maybe even the wacko hallucinations of a screwed-up main character.  Not this film.  Instead, I ask Stephen if perhaps I'd dosed off and had missed a huge chunk of it or something.  Nope, just a shitty movie.

The scary bits weren't that scary and the rest of it, story-wise, was very reminiscent of The Ring.  You know, creepy young female character... lots of water, death and drowning.

Been there, done that.  And The Ring was way better.

Discoveries and Observations

JoJo just got me thinking about the differences and similarities between the bands "Dead or Alive" and "Doctor and the Medics", so I checked out the website for each one.  And my sole observation - other than the fact that I no longer feel like I can classify Pete Burns as either gendre - is that Doctor, from Doctor and the Medics now looks more like Rob Zombie than Pete Burns!

Cry Wolf

I've just heard that Cry Wolf has just been released in theatres in the UK.  We rented it on DVD the other day...

I'd like to warn you off this one too.

Morphing!

I tried morphing my face today at this website and this was the outcome:

The original (taken in 2004, while pregnant with Jake):

As a baby:

As an older adult:

As I would look if I were of Afro-Caribean decent:
 (Yikes!)

West Asian:

The one that freaked me out the most - masculinized:
(I really do look like a guy!!)

As the apeman:

And finally, drunk:

I need a drink after all that...

Getting better!

We rented Red Eye last night and we liked it.  It was entertaining, fast-paced and suspenseful.  There were a few moments when the main character, played by Rachel McAdams, ran right past a cop and one couldn't understand why she wouldn't tell them everything but, other than that, it passed with flying colors.

I mean, what could be more scary and suspenseful than a movie where bad things happen while at 30,000 feet?!!

I remember seeing the trailer on TV a few months back and I thought that it was more of a supernatural thriller with Cillian Murphy playing the devil.  I was way off!  It has nothing to do with the devil!

And I have to say that Cillian Murphy is one weird-looking guy.  Perfect for the part though, without a doubt.
